Calorie Formula (Mifflin-St Jeor)

Men: BMR = (10 × kg) + (6.25 × cm) - (5 × age) + 5

Women: BMR = (10 × kg) + (6.25 × cm) - (5 × age) - 161

TDEE = BMR × Activity Factor (1.2 – 1.9)

Worked Example — 30-year-old woman, 65 kg, 165 cm, moderately active:

BMR = (10 × 65) + (6.25 × 165) - (5 × 30) - 161 = 650 + 1031.25 - 150 - 161 = 1,370 kcal/day

TDEE = 1,370 × 1.55 (moderate activity) = 2,124 kcal/day

To lose 0.5 kg/week: eat 2,124 - 500 = 1,624 kcal/day
